About this group course

There is a reason phone photography has exploded over the last decade or so, and it is all down to a saying we have, "the best camera is the one you have with you."

The wonderful thing about smartphones is that they make photography incredibly easy. Camera phones are quicker to take photos with, are much smaller than digital cameras. They even let you edit on the fly and make sharing so easy that even a child can do it; no wonder they are so popular!

But because so many people do not come from a photography background, they may not be aware of some of the available technical choices, which help make a photograph much better. In this Quickstart Course, I bring participants through the key features of all camera phones. I also teach essential photo editing techniques that help them make their images pop with the free mini-Photoshop App used in this course.

Images submitted after the first week's instruction receive gentle and supportive critiquing. Critiquing covers composition, processing tips, prompts for what works well, and suggestions for resolving things that do not.

Previous attendees described the difference between the images they took before and after it as "night & day."

This course is ideal for those who want to learn the bare minimum amount of phone photography knowledge in the least amount of time. Learners can use any Android, iOS, or Windows camera phone or tablet.
